Clodagh McKenna is an Irish chef, restaurateur and cook book author, living between London, Dublin and Brooklyn. She is the author of five best-selling cookery books, which include ‘Clodagh’s Irish Kitchen’ and ‘Homemade’.
Clodagh has filmed four television series, entitled ‘Fresh From the Farmers Markets’, and ‘Fresh From The Sea’, which have aired in Ireland, UK, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the US. Clodagh’s Irish Food Trails, which aired on PBS and Create TV, have reached audience levels of over 15 million, cementing her position as a household name on both a local and global level.
She has appeared in the UK on Market Kitchen, Waitrose Kitchen, BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, and Rick Stein’s Food Heroes. Clodagh is currently a regular monthly contributor on TV3’s ‘Ireland AM’, ‘Rachael Ray Show’, NBC’s ‘Today Show’, Your Morning Show (Canada) and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch. She has also appeared on The Nate Berkus Show, The Late Late Show, Esquire TV, and The Marilyn Denis Show (Canada) among many more.
Clodagh has been working in food for 20 years. She studied in both France and New York, training and working at Ballymaloe Cookery School & House in County Cork, and worked for three years developing farmers markets across Ireland, which she is very passionate about. Her work in Slow Food Ireland brought her to work at the Slow Food University in Italy, where she stayed for 3 years.
She has a restaurant in Dublin, and creates the menu with Aer Lingus on-board European and Transatlantic flights. Her food ethos is simple, local, and seasonal with a fresh take on Irish cooking.
Clodagh has many influences in her cooking, having lived in Italy and France, but the bases of her passion for food is Irish, describing her cooking as a fresh, modern take on Irish food with a focus on seasonal and local produce. She also does Clodagh’s Irish Kitchen pop ups, including one at The Whitney Museum (NYC), Selfridges (London), and Fortnum and Mason (London). This year Clodagh launched her own range of ‘Clodagh’s Kitchen Pantry’, a range of seasonal preserves.
Clodagh has been featured in Forbes Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Glamour (US), People Magazine (US), Better Homes and Gardens (US), New York Times, UK Saturday and Sunday Times Newspaper, Red Magazine, to name a few, and writes about her gastro-travels for Food and Wine online.
